Todd's Tip of the Month

What it takes to be a champion.  It is something I tend to hear from all sorts of sports.  Most of the sports have two things in common that you cannot relate to golf.  First golf (unless you are at the high school or collegiate level) does not have teammates.  Second the golf ball does not move until we move it.  What does this all mean?  Well Tiger was asked shortly after his dominant U.S. Open victory at Pebble Beach in 2000 what separates you from the other golfers?  He responded (with respect to other golfers) by saying "I cannot comment on other players practice regimens because I am not there.  However I never take a shot off.  Whether I am practicing or playing I make sure I take every shot seriously."  I have often thought about that comment.  So the next time you complete a round or a practice session think back to all of your shots and count the ones you didn't take seriously.  By the way Tiger also said "How hard can it be to concentrate for a minute and a half every round?" (time taken for all swings during 18 holes)
